The gutter is your playground, the grimy shadows where your forlorn behaviour thrives in its vile villiany. Where there are highs there must always be lows and good lord do you fill that department.

In the aptly-named Dark Ages, the village ne'er-do-wells (guilty or otherwise) would end up in the pillory or stocks, their head and hands trapped between boards while villagers pelted them with rotten fruit and vegetables. A wooden sign was hung around the offender's neck declaring their sin for all to see. All in all an awful way to spend a weekend.
